Alternative assessments, also referred as authentic assessments, are used to determine what students are capable of, in contrast to what they do or do not know. In other words, an alternative assessment measures applied proficiency more than it measures knowledge. In Redesigning Assessment for Holistic Learning Conference 2017, we focus on different types of alternative assessments, how do we apply the assessment in the course, case study which aligned with each method of assessment, and technical, practical and ethical aspects of assessment.

This two-day conference, a collaborative event between University of Malaya and Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) aim to identify the current knowledge or practice of holistic assessment among higher educators in Malaysia. We have an exciting line of speakers and experts of holistic assessment.
