The Leading Academics Professional Development program (LEADER) aims to support newly appointed professors as you navigate a growing set of responsibilities and expectations that come along with the coveted title “Prof”. The LEADER program brings to you academic leadership events covering core academic competencies of teaching and learning (T&L); research; and student supervision, as well as professional and personal development events exploring soft-skills realms of leadership and wellbeing.
Through a series of seminars, sharing sessions and learning circles set within a multidisciplinary setting, you will exchange ideas and experiences with other professors, as well as hear from leading professors.
LEADER is the apex of the Academic Career Essentials series of professional development programs for academicians. LEADER builds upon and completes the competencies of earlier Career Essentials programs, namely the Emerging Academics Learning and Development (EMERALD) program for new lecturers and the Inspiring Academics Advancement (INSPIRE) program for mid-career academics.
The LEADER program is open to:
- Associate Professors preparing to apply for promotion to full Professor
- Newly-appointed full Professors
